Who runs this

Mufti Salim Qasmi builds and runs Tasbih.info, and reviews the Islamic content on it.

He's a Hafiz of the Quran, and an Aalim and Mufti from Darul Uloom Deoband, where he completed the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and the Ifta specialisation in 2019. He's taught Quran online since then, to more than 384 students across India and the Gulf, ranging from 4-year-olds to people in their 60s. He's also the founder and head teacher at IqraExpert.

That matters here for one reason. Ifta is the training in issuing rulings, which means the sourcing rules on this site (grading every narration, refusing to present a common practice as a narrated count, showing both positions where scholars differ) are applied by someone trained to apply them.

It also means one person is accountable for both halves of this site: the code that counts, and the hadith references, gradings and counts behind every preset. If something here is wrong, there's a name attached to it.

How the Islamic content is checked

Every preset in the app carries its source, and several carry a note about the count or the grading. Those aren't decoration. They're there so you can check the app rather than trust it.

The rules the content follows are written out on the sources page. The short version: if a hadith gives no number, the app says so instead of presenting a common practice as a narrated count. Every entry carries its grading. Arabic is never hand-typed. Where scholars differ, both positions are shown and neither is picked for you.

• This is a reference tool, not a fatwa service. It does not replace asking a scholar about your own situation.
• The qualification described above belongs to the person, not to this website. Darul Uloom Deoband has not reviewed or endorsed this site, and nothing here should be read as its position.
• The sources are cited so you can verify them yourself rather than take anyone's word for it.
• Corrections are logged publicly and dated on the corrections page, including the ones that are embarrassing.

Why there are no ads

Read the reviews of the popular tasbih apps and the same complaint comes up again and again: adverts appearing on screen during dhikr, sometimes for gambling or worse. One reviewer paid to remove them and got them anyway.

So this site carries no adverts anywhere, and none of the worship features sit behind a payment. There's no account, no email capture and no third-party tracking. You can verify that by viewing the page source.

The trade is honest: the site earns nothing today. If that changes, it will change in a way that keeps the counter itself clean, and this page will say how.

What the site is trying to do better

Three things, based on what people actually complain about in the existing apps and tools.

• Never lose your count. It's written to your browser on every single tap, so a crash or a closed tab can't take it.
• Let you count without staring at the screen. The whole screen counts, vibration confirms each one with a double tick at every 33, and the spacebar or a Bluetooth pedal works on a computer.
• Carry the post-salah sunnah all the way through, with the reference shown as you go, rather than stopping at 33 and leaving you to guess the rest.

Where it's going

The counter now includes the three Quls at the end of its guided post-salah sequence. Ayat al-Kursi is available as a separate verified preset but remains outside that sequence because its post-salah narration is not in a source collection this site can link to directly.

The changelog and the corrections log are the honest record of what's shipped and what's been fixed. Both are public.
